FAQ
FAQ – TRJ Precision Works
GENERAL
Q: What items can you engrave?
A: We can engrave most items made of metal, glass, wood, leather, acrylic, or stone. If you can ship it and it engraves, we can probably mark it.
Q: Do you only engrave gun parts?
A: No. We engrave both gun parts and personal items like knives, axes, tumblers, wallets, dog tags, lighters, tools, gifts, and more.
Q: Do you offer custom designs?
A: Yes. Logos, text, symbols, Viking themes, Aztec patterns, skulls, and geometric layouts are all available.
GUN PARTS
Q: What gun parts can I send?
A: You can send non-serialized parts such as slides without serial numbers, barrels, magazines, AR and Glock parts, muzzle devices, optic plates, BCGs, and small components.
Q: What gun parts are NOT allowed?
A: We do not accept serialized frames, serialized receivers, serialized slides, completed 80% lowers, or complete firearms.
Q: Is engraving a gun slide legal without an FFL?
A: Yes, as long as the slide itself does not have a serial number. On most modern pistols, the serial number is on the frame, not the slide.
Q: Do I need to strip my slide?
A: Recommended but not required. For porting, optics must be removed and we may ask you to strip internals depending on the job.
Q: Do coatings affect engraving?
A: Cerakote, DLC, nitrided, and anodized finishes all engrave well. Porting will expose raw metal along the cut edges.
PORTING
Q: Is laser porting safe?
A: Yes. We design and cut ports in structurally safe areas and do not remove excessive material.
Q: Will porting change recoil?
A: Proper porting reduces muzzle rise and helps the gun shoot flatter.
SHIPPING & TURNAROUND
Q: How do I ship parts or items to you?
A: After placing your order, write your order number on a note, pack the item securely with padding, and ship to the address provided in your order confirmation using tracked shipping.

• Personal items: 5–10 days
• Gun parts: 5–10 days
• Full slide engraving: 5–10 days
• Porting: 2–5 days
(times are after we receive your item)
Q: Do you offer rush service?

PAYMENT & REFUNDS
Q: Are custom jobs refundable?
A: No. Custom engraving is non-refundable. If we make a mistake, we will fix or replace when possible.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: Credit/debit cards and any payment methods enabled through Shopify checkout (Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc., if active).
DESIGN & DURABILITY
Q: Can I upload my artwork?
A: Yes. High-resolution PNG, JPG, or vector files work best.
Q: Can you create or clean up artwork for me?
A: Yes, we can help with design prep for most engraving jobs.
Q: Will engraving wear off?
A: No. Engraving removes material, so it will not peel, chip, or fade like paint or printing.
LEGAL
Q: Do you engrave serial numbers or NFA markings?
A: No. We do not offer serial number or NFA-required engravings at this time.
